Look behind the curtain

Slice Viewer

Looking at a printout can often be quite surprising, when your intended shape is not looking quite right or if the colors don’t match the texture you see on screen. With PrismSlicer’s Slice Viewer you can inspect exactly what the printer will print and find out if the software or hardware caused your problem.

During the slicing process your input geometry and texture get interpreted and converted into a volumetric representation that the 3D printer can reproduce. Any mistakes in this proces are hard to track, because usually all you see is the final physical result. Most slicers are hiding this processing from the users and directly send the the result to the printer.

Interactive Slice Viewer

In PrismSlicer you can interactively view the results of the slicing process together with the 3D geometry. Using a vertical slider you can cut through the model and look on the inside to see how materials are assigned to individual voxels.

This allows for preventing any printing errors due to problematic geometry or accidental mistakes made in the design phase of 3D Material Gradients.

Combined with our photorealistic Appearance Preview you have a powerful toolbox to work with your printer on a deeper level, while still having the confidence that the results won’t surprise you.
